Good, but don't use drywall mounts with in-wall wiring

I purchased a pair of these for my 422-LR's. Assembly is easy, and it's a good product overall. I wouldn't try to hang a heavier speaker on them. The first speaker I hung used external wiring and worked great using the provided wallboard mounts. For the second speaker, I ran the wiring up inside the wall. The wall-mount plate has a 1/2" circle cut in the middle so you can pull wiring through it from behind. The mounting screws are located just above and below this hole. When I put the 1/2" hole in the drywall to pull the wire through, it so weakened the sheet rock around the top mount that it just caved in as soon as I put weight on it. I essentially created one big (ugly)hole out of the two. (Not good!) I ended up mounting that speaker on the nearest stud and bringing the wire in from the side instead of directly behind. Much better solution. I just have to do some drywall repair now!!

I'd buy them again now that I know not to do that!!

Great Mounts but not for drywall

These B-Tech mounts are ideal for the 422's. I like the up-down left-right fully adjustable ball. With an Onkyo 7.1 use the Audessy to balance them +or- 3db, easy to do, as this mount allows you to aim them at ear level for amazing sound. A follow up on the drywall mount problem mentioned earlier. The B-Tech instructions that come with this mount says (I'm not shouting, this is exactly how the instructions appear in print): WARNING: IF YOU INSTALL THIS MOUNT ON DRYWALL, IT MUST BE ANCHORED INTO A WOOD STUD, CONCRETE BLOCK OR BRICK BEHIND THE DRYWALL. INSTALLING ON DRYWALL ALONE WILL NOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF A LOUDSPEAKER. It goes on to say they are not liable for any damage. So it may not be a good idea to use these on hollow drywall. lol.
