Allaire™ ARIS® Speaker System

Allaire™ ARIS® Speaker System

Wow, this is an awesome wireless speaker. It was easy to connect to my WiFi network using my smartphone and the Aperion access point that the speaker broadcasts. The speaker looks very nice and feels solid ( and is heavier than expected ). The sound is incredible , I especially like the "enhanced stereo" equalizer mode. Sending music to it is fairly simple from windows or from an Android smartphone. One slight concern I have is that I might damage the rear exposed speakers when handling it. The speaker also seems to sound the best if you are directly facing it.

Final note : I did not buy this directly but rather on ebay. I might have gotten lucky but I got a brand new in box for $260 shipped. I think at that price it is a steal. I think 500$ is a bit steep.
Thanks Aperion! David

Verus Grand Center Channel Speaker

Verus Grand Center Channel Speaker

Received my Verus Grands yesterday afternoon, and spent the better part of the evening setting them up and calibrating the system. I haven't gotten a lot of listening time yet, but I'm loving what I'm hearing so far. My previous setup was a 9 year old Onkyo HTIB which, at least as far as HTIBs go, was pretty good. But we're talking night and day between them and the Aperions. Especially on the high end, I'm getting a lot more clarity and detail that I simply never noticed before. I watched the opening car chase scene of "Quantum of Solace," and holy crap! I was literally gripping my armrests as the VGs every visceral detail of the flying bullets and screeching metal as car after car was destroyed.

My Blu-ray of "It Might Get Loud" is currently on loan, so I popped in "White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights" instead. I tell ya, if these speakers can keep up with Jack White on the guitar (and they can), there's nothing they can't do.

After that came the "Within Temptation: Black Symphony" Blu-ray, and was once again floored by this immense wall of sound coming from the VGs. And again, I kept hearing tons of new details and even whole instruments that I had not heard before. The band, the orchestra, the singer, and the crowd were all represented well with excellent definition so nothing was lost.

Suffice it to say, I will definitely be recommending Aperion Audio to anyone who will listen to me. Even if they might not be able to afford Verus Grands like mine, Aperion certainly has a diverse lineup that should be able to fit nearly any budget.

Oh, and my system:

Verus Grand Tower Speaker

Verus Grand Tower Speaker

First my equipment

Onkyo PRS886 audio/video processor (Audessey set all the aperion speakers at full range and I change them to 80Hz)
Outlaw 7700 power-amp
2 Outlaw 2200 power-amp for 2 butt-kickers (control by a Velodyne SMS for volume control)
Oppo BD103 blu-ray player
2 SVS PB13 Ultra for sub (set at 20Hz)
aperion VGT(x2), VGC and VGB (x4 for surronds)
JVC RS45/X30 projector
Carada BW 114" screen
Bluejeans balance cables
Good but basic room accoustically

As you can see, I became a firm believer of ID companies.
They offer a superior product for the money and they do have to work hard at it since most people prefer a very well known brand.
And some of them make it to big magazine and this is how I found out about Aperion.

First, I have been very happy with my 7 DIY speakers.
Never had the need or the want to change them.
Then after a new line of speaker wish I have no doubt that got very good got reviews and were compared to the aperion which got me to do some reading online.
Went to their site and start reading very good reviews from pro-review and compare them against brand names worth a lots more money (2 to 5 times more).
I got very curious and decided, it was time for a change.

After lots of e-mails back and forth with Aperion I knew their customer service is just as good as all the above mentioned ID companies.
So I did put my order ($5150 after taxes, duties and exchange).

Was it worth it?
YES, I think I got 10% better sound (It come to a point that sometime to get 2-5% is difficult without spending a lot more).
Aperion did that for me.

Outstanding finish (mine are the black satin) and the sound is so clear and clean (my wife said that I am playing the movies louder, I guess loud is good as long as it it clean).
Lots of details (beware they do not forgive bad recording as my previous DIY, if it's there, the speakers will play them. i.e. you will hear the microphone on some recording)
L & R were so easy to set-up, I put my 2 VGT at the same angle as my previous set-up and sounded perfect (either pure luck or they are very very forgiving due the phase plug design [real phase plug]).
L to R or R to L going through the center was perfect to my ears.
Details on the bookshelf as surrounds was creepy (in a good way since I came from Bi-poles side surronds).

This review is more about background and history since I do not have the proper word to describe as how good they sound.
I did get rid of all shipping boxes within a week if as a point of how much I do love them.

Aperion Bookshelf Wall Mount Pair

Aperion Bookshelf Wall Mount Pair

I got to rate this product a 5 star.
I put 5 for sound quality since yhere no option as non-applicable.
Easy to work with by yourself (with the exception of the safey cable).

I use 2 1.5in on 1 side directly in a stud and 2 more with a wall anchor.
Very solid.
The only down side is the wall screws supplied are a little short in my best opinion.
But drywall screws are cheap to buy.

Highly recommanded.

My father has a very nice THC 5.1 surround sound system. He spent about 5 times more money then I did going with the Aperion Versus 5.1 set up. I have spent hundreds of hours watching movies / listening to music on his THC system. It truly made me appreciate sound quality and have ever since dreamed of being able to come home and go in to that aura that only great speakers can create. Im not a unrealistic guy so I knew it would be a very long time before I would be able to buy 20,000 dollar speakers if ever. So as time went on I started thinking about temporary reliefs such as home theaters in a box.......... I couldn't go back to that s***, so I researched and researched and continuously came across outstanding Aperion audio reviews. Ok so now I know Aperion is the only way to go I just didn't know that was going to be the easiest decision of the process. I didnt find a bad review on any of there speakers, HOW DO YOU CHOOSE ON SO MANY GOOD REVIEWS!?!?! I finally just decided if I was going to save I might as well save for the top. I had the space for it. I will never regret this purchase I have permanently earned gloating rights with my father who refuses to admit it but knows my system sounds better. Everything about my transaction was perfect. The customer support is always very quick and friendly. As long as Aperion keeps it up I will never buy from another company.

WARNING: Contents may cause buyer to call in sick to work..................... for a week/month/whats work?

I've had the VGBs for about two weeks now and I am happier with my purchase every day. I currently have these set up as my main fronts in 2.0 and 7.1 setups. They are pushed with a Denon 4311ci and paired with a HSU VTF-15H Subwoofer for stereo music. Aperion wasn't kidding when they said their speakers sound great out of the box. And the Cherry finish looks like a finish you should have to pay twice as much for. The first few days I played some FLAC files of Adele and Mumford & Sons and was astonished by the smooth clarity exuded by the VGBs. I currently have the crossed over at 60hz which seems to be a great sweet spot given my setup and they mesh really well at this point with the subwoofer. My living room is 18x22 with a vaulted ceiling and an open loft. The VGBs have no problem filling the entire space with great sound. They have performed really well matched with the VGC during movies as well. After I purchase some VGTs, my Verus Grand lineup will be complete and I feel I will not need to upgrade for a very long time. Thanks Aperion!

I have had so many speakers come and go in and out of my system it's hard to recall
them all. From Revel Studios to B&W 802s to Paradigm Sigs to Maggies to Mythos to Ascend Sierra's to NHT's... on and on the list goes.
Much of this was by design, I wanted to listen to as many different speakers as possible, get to know their sound, their strengths, their weakness,
and how they performed in my listening room.... you should know our listening room is our family room, not the perfect environment for a speaker but it is was it is, so the speaker must be able to not only perform well in it's given space but also look good while doing it.
After all the speaker madness I've put my system (and bank account) through the little women and I came to an agreement that the madness had to stop. It was time to take all I'd learned about which kind of speakers performed best in my listening room, would fit in it's given space and look good doing it....
Enter the Verus Grand Towers and Center...
I'd never heard them before, of course I'd read the rave reviews, both professional and user,
and I'd determined they would physically fit in the space I could provide them....
so would the Ascend Towers and Salk SongTowers both of which I'd considered strongly before deciding the VGTs & VGC had more of what I was after...
curved cabinet design, speakers that could handle both music and movies, more drivers should help with movie dynamics, the ideal center speaker design, and if I didn't like them... free return shipping.
So I placed my order. A few days later the Center speaker arrived, the Towers a few weeks later as they were on back order.
As soon as I unpacked the center speaker I knew one of my speaker criteria had been exceeded.... WOW what a beautiful speaker!
The deep rich cherry finish and smooth curved cabinet design, not to mention its super solid construction.... and the best news, it sounds as good as it looks. Since the VGC has been in our system we haven't missed a word of dialogue.
Female as well as male music vocals are a treat to behold, rich, detailed, never harsh...
dare I say perfect..... really I couldn't imagine a better center speaker at any price!
So when the Towers arrived my expectations were extremely high....
the Towers didn't disappoint, in fact they reinforced the shock and awe we were experiencing from the VGC.... just more of it.
The VGTs have an effortless, smooth sound to them. They go deep, very deep, a quick check with Styke's Basszone CD shows strong bass performance down into the upper 20s. Imaging is spot on, soundstage is wide, deep and surprisingly high or tall. Upper bass and mids are powerful and rich with a sort of effortless presentation that pulls you into the recording. Highs are even better, silky smooth yet with a detail that brings out the "texture" of the recording in a way that makes you want to hear more and more, say goodbye to listener fatigue.
So as you can tell I'm in speaker heaven.
I've finally found a speaker that fills ALL my speaker needs....
Great sound,
Great looks,
Great product support,
Perfect size, (for me)
Double duty performers.... music & movies
Thank You Aperion!

Intimus 5C Center Channel Speaker

Intimus 5C Center Channel Speaker

I got this 5C to go with a pair of 5Bs initially. It is a huge addition to my home theater! The sound that comes out of it is clear and detailed. Everyone, no matter where they are sitting, can hear the dialog flawlessly. It is also everything a center channel should be to music: transparent! It just disappears when listening to music in surround, blending in seamlessly with the front 5Bs, Bravus II 8D sub, and rear 4Bs. I have never had a sound system that worked so well together. It is truly a surround experience, where everything works so well together that every individual part disappears and you become completely absorbed in the experience of listening to the music or soundtrack, and not the speakers. I have close 200 hours listening and do not know how I lived without this as part of my home theater. Thanks again to all at Aperion for the fantastic service and help. Jason Hicks really helped me with all my questions, never failing to provide a timely and informative response.

Intimus 5B Bookshelf Speaker Pair

Intimus 5B Bookshelf Speaker Pair

I have a pair of these that go along with a 5c, a pair of 4b surrounds and a Bravus II 8D sub. They are simply beyond belief! The sound that they produce is so pure and clear it has to be heard to be believed! The soundstage is immense as well. Whether listening to music or movies, they never fail to impress and put a smile on my face. They look as great as they sound with fantastic build quality and finish. I love the smooth rounded corners and edges. It is a work of art, for sure. The sound out of the box was good, but after the break in period-WOW! After almost 200 hrs, these babies are keepers. The staff at Aperion have been amazing and Jason Hicks helped me out with my setup immensely, never failing to respond to my endless chain of emails. Thanks Jason!
