Premium Bass Without the Premium Price

The Daedalus DS10 features a 10-inch woofer built with Aperion Audio's advanced driver technology to deliver clean, impactful bass from a compact cabinet. Its composite paper cone combines the natural warmth of paper with added strength and durability, producing accurate low-frequency reproduction with excellent speed and control.

For our Daedalus subwoofers, paper remains our preferred cone material because of its light weight and ideal stiffness, allowing the driver to respond quickly to changing audio signals while preserving natural tonal character. A proprietary damping coating further minimizes unwanted cone resonance and distortion, resulting in tighter, cleaner bass.

The upgraded woofer also incorporates a butyl rubber surround, a high-power voice coil, and a powerful magnetic motor system. Together, these components maximize cone excursion, enabling the DS10 to deliver impressive output and deep low-frequency extension with exceptional precision.

Powering the driver is Aperion's latest Class D amplifier, engineered for high efficiency and dynamic performance. Its advanced DSP and updated filter design provide clean, controlled bass while protecting the woofer from harmful low-frequency signals. The result is deep extension, high output capability, and the musical accuracy demanded by both audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts.

Connectivity has also been upgraded to fit virtually any system. Alongside traditional RCA inputs, the DS10 now includes balanced XLR inputs and outputs for improved noise rejection and greater installation flexibility. The pass-through outputs make it easy to integrate multiple subwoofers, allowing your system to scale effortlessly as your room or listening needs grow.

The Daedalus DS10 also stands apart with its distinctive curved cabinet, offering a refined alternative to conventional box-shaped subwoofers. Beyond its elegant appearance, the curved enclosure helps reduce cabinet resonance for cleaner, more accurate bass reproduction.

A thick MDF front baffle and extensive internal bracing create an exceptionally rigid enclosure that minimizes vibration and coloration. Finished in a sophisticated black oak veneer with a horizontal wood grain, the cabinet blends seamlessly into modern living spaces while maintaining a premium aesthetic.

Completing the design, a large bottom-firing flared port with an extended slot profile enhances low-frequency efficiency and airflow, reducing port noise while improving bass extension.

The result is a subwoofer that combines elegant design, versatile connectivity, and powerful, controlled bass performance—all at an exceptional value.

1. AC Power Cord Receptacle: A US standard power cord has a 3-pin plug with live, neutral, and ground wires. The ground wire enhances safety by carrying leakage current to the ground and reducing the risk of electric shock.

2. On/Off Switch: Turns Subwoofer On/Off.

3. Auto & Standby: When set to Auto, the subwoofer powers on with an input signal and enters standby after 30 minutes of inactivity. In Always On mode, the subwoofer stays powered regardless of input.

4. Phase: The phase adjustment knob optimizes the phase relationship between the subwoofer and main speakers, improving low-frequency response and system integration while accommodating different speaker positions.

5. Crossover 40-160 Hz & OFF/LFE: The crossover adjustment knob lets you control which frequencies the subwoofer processes, ensuring better synergy with the main speaker and reducing sound overlap.
Setting the crossover point to 80Hz means the subwoofer handles sounds below 80Hz while the main speaker handles those above. If your AV receiver has a separate LFE output, set the crossover knob to Off. This allows the RCA input to act like the LFE input, managing low-frequency signals without using a subwoofer crossover, ideal for home theaters.

250 Watt Class D Amplifier

The Daedalus DS10 subwoofer's plate amplifier harnesses the full potential of its 10" driver, offering powerful and precise control. Its Class D design generates substantial current for excellent subwoofer performance, ensuring seamless integration with any home theater or stereo system. The Daedalus Subwoofer series incorporates a specialized detection circuit that keeps distortion below 1%, even at maximum power output (maximum volume).

Unbalanced (RCA) & Balanced (XLR) Inputs and Outputs

We have also improved input options. To meet various needs, we kept the standard unbalanced RCA inputs and added balanced XLR inputs. That connects to any receiver’s subwoofer pre-out.

XLR uses balanced transmission to minimize noise and interference, making it perfect for long-distance cable runs. This reduces signal loss for clearer sound quality, while the locking design ensures a secure connection.

The Daedalus subwoofer has dual output modes with unbalanced (RCA) and balanced (XLR) outputs. This design solves the problem of limited preamplifier output ports and allows you to use these ports flexibly for a powerful multi-subwoofer setup. No matter how many subwoofers you want to connect, Daedalus can handle it quickly, improving your sound system's overall impact.

Phase 0-180° Knob

The phase adjustment knob optimizes the phase relationship between the subwoofer and main speakers, resolving phase cancellation and improving low-frequency response. It's essential for accommodating different speaker positions and enhancing overall system integration.

Auto & Always On

When the switch is set to the Auto position, the subwoofer automatically turns on and starts playing when it detects an input signal.

The subwoofer automatically enters "Standby Mode" if there is no input signal detected for more than 30 minutes.

If the switch is set to the Always On position, the subwoofer will remain powered on regardless of whether it detects a signal, and it will not enter "Standby Mode".

Crossover 40-160 Hz & Off/LFE

The crossover adjustment lets you control the range of frequencies that the subwoofer processes. This helps it work well with the your other speakers and avoids overlap or loss of sound. If both the subwoofer and your speakers play the same frequencies at the same time, the sound can become muddy and unclear.

By adjusting the crossover point, you can keep frequencies from overlapping, which makes the sound clearer and more impactful.

For example, if you set the crossover point to 80Hz, the subwoofer will handle sounds below 80Hz, allowing the main speaker to handle frequencies 80Hz and up.

If configuring a home theater system with LFE, set the crossover knob to Off. This bypasses the internal crossover, allowing the Daedalus sub to process all LFE information which is generally 20-120Hz.

Unique curved cabinet design

The Daedalus DS10 Subwoofer distinguishes itself in the subwoofer market with its unique curved cabinet design, moving away from the typical square shape.

This innovative look enhances visibility and gives users an appealing visual option while providing fantastic low frequency.

Front ported cabinet design

All Daedalus subwoofers feature a large front-mounted inverted port tube design that enhances low-frequency output, efficiency, and distortion control.

Making it perfect for powerful, and low bass. Aperion's optimizations also ensure minimal port noise.

Internally Braced 1" MDF

Powerful bass needs a sturdy cabinet. Every Daedalus subwoofer is built out of strong 1" MDF and is internally braced to reduce cabinet vibration to nearly nothing.

Do I need more than one subwoofer?

Depending on your room size and desired sound, you may consider multiple subwoofers. Contact us for help with system planning!

Is the Daedalus DS10 powerful enough for my home theater or medium-sized room?

The Daedalus DS10 powered 10 inch subwoofer uses a 10" high-excursion woofer with a 250W RMS (500W peak) Class D amplifier, delivering deep bass down to 20Hz. It is well-suited for small to medium-sized rooms and can add impactful low-end to most home theater systems. The front-ported design helps reinforce bass extension even when placed close to a wall. For larger rooms or more intense bass needs, consider using two units.

Do I need an amplifier?

The Daedalus subwoofer is an "active" subwoofer, meaning it has a built in amplifier. Use and RCA or XLR cable to connect to your pre amplifier or AV receivers "subwoofer output".

How do I connect this subwoofer to my AV receiver or stereo system?

The Daedalus DS10 offers both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs and outputs. Use the RCA/LFE input for most home AV receivers; the LFE input is best if your receiver has a dedicated subwoofer (LFE) out. For longer cable runs or when your preamp or processor provides XLR outputs, use the balanced XLR input to reduce noise. Choose the connection that matches the outputs available on your AVR or stereo for best performance.

Can this sub be used in Europe or Asia?

Yes! Next to the main power switch is a voltage selector. Double check voltage requirements in your area and adjust if needed.

What are the best crossover and phase settings for blending the DS10 with my main speakers?

Start by setting the crossover frequency to 80 Hz, which is a common starting point for most systems. If your AV receiver manages bass (LFE mode), set the crossover knob to "Off/LFE.” Adjust the phase control (0–180°) by listening for the most seamless blend between subwoofer and mains, often starting at 0° and rotating slowly while playing bass-heavy content. Fine-tuning these settings based on your room, main speaker size, and listening position can help achieve the tightest bass integration.

Can I use multiple Daedalus DS10 subwoofers in my system, and how do I connect them?

Yes, you can run two or more Daedalus DS10 subwoofers for smoother bass response. The DS10’s RCA and XLR outputs allow daisy-chaining, meaning you can connect one subwoofer’s output directly to another’s input. This is helpful if your processor or receiver only has a single subwoofer pre-out. Be sure to balance placement for even bass coverage in your room. (Daisy-chaining is only possible through RCA>RCA or XLR>XLR, you can not mix-and-match Input and Output connections)
