What would a home cinema be without a subwoofer? The TS15 is an absolute bass powerhouse that not only impresses with its earthquake-like feel but also with its dynamics and precision. The Aperion TS15 was designed as a passive subwoofer without an integrated power amplifier, making it suitable for professional applications. This gives users significantly greater flexibility in choosing the DSP and power amplifier(s).

With the TS15 subwoofer audiophiles have an absolute bass powerhouse at their disposal. As a closed cabinet, it unleashes tremendous power in terms of dynamics and sound quality. The specially developed 15" woofer is particularly responsible for this. To be prepared for use in home cinemas and professional studios, the subwoofer was designed with a passive design. This means that the subwoofer does not have its own power amplifier. It thus enables the users maximum flexibility with regard to the choice of power amplifier, DSP or room correction.
If a subwoofer is positioned in a hard-to-reach area, adjusting its settings can be quite inconvenient. A great way to overcome this issue is by opting for a passive subwoofer. Because a passive subwoofer doesn’t have a built-in amplifier, all the necessary electronics—like signal processing, crossover adjustments, and volume control—are managed by an external amplifier unit. This setup lets you make adjustments right at the equipment rack, making daily use much easier and eliminating the need to constantly go to the subwoofer itself.

Reinforced Paper-Composite 15" Long-Throw Woofer with High Damping Dust Cap
The development of the driver is based on the acoustic advantages of an extended pole piece in the magnet system.
However, our engineers have gone one big step further.
Using finite element analysis simulation, the entire magnet structure was optimized and the pole piece was specially shaped to achieve symmetrical flux distribution along the moving path of the voice coil. This design approach allows for noticeably more linear chassis excursion as it significantly reduces inductance modulation and DC offset, especially at high power levels. The result is significantly lower distortion values and more effective voice coil cooling.
The membrane is made from a very strong, long-fiber cellulose blend to ensure the right dynamic stability and stiffness. The surround is made from a special NBR compound (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber).
This material has minimized mechanical memory, providing more accurate transient response. The large voice coil, high Xmax and vented pole piece enable clear and high-resolution dynamics without mechanical or thermal compression, even at the highest output levels. The surrounding solid die-cast aluminum frame was designed to minimize disruptive structural resonances.

5-Way Binding Posts
The Theatrus TS15 features one Negative and one Positive gold-plated 5-way binding post to allow for as many connections as possible, while the gold-plating allows for the most transient and true-to-signal sound.
Internally Braced 1" MDF
Powerful bass needs a sturdy cabinet. The Theatrus TS15 passive subwoofer is built out of strong 1" MDF and is internally braced to reduce cabinet vibration to nearly nothing.

What's in the box?
The Theatrus TS15 subwoofer comes with an owners manual download card, a polish cloth, AC Power cable, and white gloves for installation (Fancy, huh?).
Make sure you have speaker wire to connect to your external Subwoofer Amplifier.
Do I need more than one subwoofer?
Depending on your room size and desired sound, you may consider multiple subwoofers. Contact us for help with system planning!
How do I keep the sub looking nice and clean?
Included in the package is a microfiber polish cloth to help you keep your sub looking fresh and clean!
Do I need an amplifier?
The Theatrus TS15 is a "passive" subwoofer, meaning it does need a subwoofer amplifier. Use speaker wire of your choice to connect to your "subwoofer output" on your Amplifier.
Can this sub be used in Europe or Asia?
Yes! As this is a passive subwoofer, it can be used world-wide without having to worry about the Voltage on the subwoofer, though make sure your Subwoofer Amplifier is set to the correct voltage.
How do I clean and care for my TS15 subwoofer?
Since the TS15 subwoofer features a matte black cabinet, it can be cleaned by simply wiping it down gently with the microfiber polishing cloth included in the packaging, or by using a dusting wand.
