Bravus III B215S Dual 15" Slim Sealed Powered Subwoofer

As projectors gain popularity in custom-install home theaters, users are increasingly concerned about the layout and efficient use of space. In response to this demand, active subwoofers featuring a thinner cabinet have surged in popularity, emerging as a new favorite among consumers. These slim subwoofers with a minimized footprint can easily be tucked behind an acoustically transparent projector screen, helping maintain a tidy, aesthetically pleasing home theater environment, all while delivering the high-quality sound we know you crave.

For a long time, the image of traditional subwoofers has been associated with bulky, square designs. However, the Aperion Audio Bravus III B215S dual 15-inch slim active subwoofer challenges this stereotype. With a cabinet depth of just 11.8 inches, it stands out as a prime example of "ultra-thin" design, perfectly catering to your needs for both space efficiency and visual appeal.

Dual 15" Long-Throw Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Cone Woofer

The Bravus III B215S features a brand-new 15-inch driver, surpassing all previous models in the Bravus series. Our engineers have successfully addressed the challenges that arises from using such large cones. As the size of the cone increases, the risks of deformation due to the extra weight rises, making a precise response much more difficult. To address this issue, the B215S utilizes a cone made from an aluminum-magnesium alloy, achieving a precise balance of rigidity and weight. The driver unit is secured by specially designed rubber surrounds and a spider suspension, ensuring smooth and unimpeded linear piston movement. The entire assembly is firmly supported by a robust metal frame and driven by a powerful magnetic system. It is this oversized woofer design that gives the B215S its powerful energy output and extremely deep bass extension capabilities.

Sealed Enclosure Design

To create a more efficient layout in a limited space, all while reducing overall cabinet size to meet various installation needs, the B215S features a sealed-enclosure design. This design not only maximizes space utilization but also offers a major benefit: it provides precise, clean, and highly controlled low-frequency performance. With this sealed construction, the B215S delivers a remarkable transient response, producing low-frequency output that is not only accurate but also extremely low-distortion, ensuring exceptional sonic clarity and fidelity. Additionally, its compact dimensions allow the B215S to fit seamlessly into environments with limited space, making it a perfect choice for a wide range of use cases.

Aperion Bravus III Slim Active Subwoofers

Powerful Output and Refined Performance

The Aperion Audio Bravus III B215S fully meets its design goals. It features two 15-inch long-throw woofers, a 1300-watt RMS Class D amplifier, and a state-of-the-art digital signal processor (DSP), boasting a luxurious hardware configuration. In terms of performance, the B215S is truly impressive, delivering exceptional power and a wide soundstage while maintaining meticulous control over detail. After careful tuning, it exhibits outstanding quality whether used for movies or music. Its volume control is incredibly precise, maintaining excellent performance even at low volumes without masking other speakers or causing frequency deficiencies. This subwoofer can descend to below 20 Hz with exceptional linearity, delivering a depth and accuracy unattainable by traditional speakers, especially excelling at reproducing the demanding low frequencies.

Using the B215S, you can truly feel a visceral impact, while the sound reproduction remains refined and natural. It is this balance that sets Aperion Audio apart from its competitors. Although some competitors may have comparable power, few can match its performance.

Aperion Bravus III Class D Amplifier

Advanced Class D High-Power Amplifier Plate

The B215S amplifier utilizes Denmark's ICEpower® Class D technology with exceptional dynamic capability and low distortion. With 1300W RMS, 2600W peak, it offers reference-level performance and precise control over the driver.

B215S Preset EQs

Three Preset EQs

The onboard DSP includes three selectable EQ profiles to quickly adapt the subwoofer to your room or content. Each preset adjusts the system's frequency response and extension characteristics.

- Extend gives an extended frequency response for the deepest bass; however, the lower frequencies can be overrepresented and “muddy”, depending on the room geometries, placement of the sub, and listening position.

- Normal is a direct countermeasure to the “muddy” bass problem of overrepresented bass or room gain. Lowering the bass extension makes the bass more controlled.

- The "Flat" mode has no built-in DSP processing, allowing users to connect other low-frequency management devices for use.

Ideal for Various Environments

When it comes to placement of your subwoofer, a critical factor influencing bass performance you probably can't change is your rooms acoustic characteristics. This often poses numerous challenges. Due to variations in room shape, dimensions, and construction materials, sound propagation within a space can lead to phenomena such as reflections and interference, thereby compromising the uniformity and impact of the bass. To effectively address these acoustic issues and achieve truly ideal bass reproduction, relying on a single subwoofer is often insufficient. Instead, you may need to deploy two, four, or even more subwoofers—meticulously positioning them in strategic locations—to construct a balanced bass field where every corner of the room is immersed in deep, powerful low frequencies.

However, space is always at a premium. In a typical living room or dedicated home theater, factors such as furniture arrangement, door or window locations often impose significant constraints on equipment layout. If a subwoofer is excessively bulky, finding a suitable placement becomes daunting. For instance, a lack of available space might prevent you from positioning the subwoofer in the ideal spot to maximize its performance; alternatively, its placement might interfere with the arrangement of other furniture or impede normal movement within the room. Worse still, placing a large subwoofer too close to walls or furniture can trigger unwanted resonances and sonic distortions, thereby undermining the carefully crafted soundstage.

This is where Aperion Audio’s Bravus III B215S—a dual 15-inch slim active subwoofer—offers a superior solution to these spatial dilemmas. Its ultra-slim profile provides a distinct advantage over traditional subwoofers, ensuring it does not consume excessive floor space. This design affords you far greater flexibility in placement: whether you choose to position it flush against a wall, tuck it into a corner, or integrate it alongside other audio components, you can do so with ease, unencumbered by concerns regarding spatial limitations. Furthermore, this inherent flexibility empowers you to adjust the subwoofer's position—guided by your room's specific acoustic properties—to pinpoint the optimal balance for sound reproduction. The Bravus III B215S delivers a breathtakingly powerful yet remarkably uniform bass experience, elevating your home entertainment to an entirely new level.

Additionally, its compact dimensions allow the B215S to fit seamlessly into environments with limited space, making it a perfect choice for a wide range of venues.

High-End HDF Cabinet Design

The B215S' cabinet appearance and structural design are highly distinctive. The matte black finish, combined with clean, fluid lines, presents a design style that is both functional and industrial, blending seamlessly into any environment, whether a professionally installed home theater, a DIY Home Theater, or a High-end living room system.

In line with its high-end positioning, the manufacturing process is exceptional as well. The cabinet features a curved design on both sides, and the panels are made of multi-layered, high-density fiberboard. This series of design choices made by our engineering and R&D team provides excellent stability to the cabinet, effectively suppressing unwanted harmonic resonances. This stability is crucial for supporting the two 15-inch woofers, and helps in minimizing vibration interference with sound quality, and ensuring you get a pure, and powerful sound.
