The HST Dual AMT Super Tweeter represents an advanced addition to auditory systems, featuring an upper cut-off frequency exceeding 30 kHz. This capability allows it to cover an extensive frequency spectrum that extends into the ultrasonic range. Prior to 2024, you might have been acquainted with the well-known PST Planar Magnetic, RST Aluminum Ribbon, or the DST AMT Super Tweeters, however, their highest sensitivity only reaches up to 96 dB. This means that some of our customers, who have speakers exceeding 96 dB, are unable to fully experience the allure of our Super Tweeters.
We have recently introduced the "HST" Super Tweeter, a dual firing AMT Super Tweeter with high sensitivity. This unit is built on the foundation of the DST technology, utilizing a larger size, higher efficiency, and more powerful AMT unit. With an impressive effective sensitivity of 103 dB, it can be seamlessly paired with any speaker that has a sensitivity up to 103 dB.

Without adequate high-frequency response, the speaker’s full potential goes unrealized. 1. Super tweeters are designed to work alongside your existing speakers, not to completely replace a burnt main tweeter.
2. Keep in mind that a super tweeter's output volume is dependent on your hearing, so what some percieve and hear, you may not.
3. Aperion Audio Super Tweeters enhance the overall sound experience, it does not guarantee "perfect" high-frequency sound. Instead, it enhances the sense of spaciousness, and airyness, while compensating for the high-frequency limitations of your original speakers, resulting in a better listening experience overall.
4. In our experience as a rule of thumb, ensure that the sensitivity of the Super Tweeter is equal or higher than that of your existing speakers. For example, if your speakers have a sensitivity of 95dB, we would recommend our Super Tweeters with 96dB sensitivity to give as much wiggle room with fine-tuning the sound to your personal preference.
5. The key to using super tweeters lies in experimentation and enjoyment. Achieving the best sound for your particular setup requires time and adjustments, and we usually recommend people listen to, and adjust their Super Tweeters for around 20 Hours.
6. Listening experiences are highly personal; it's completely normal for some individuals to notice a massive difference while others may only notice a small or no difference at all.

You can also add super tweeters to a home theater system used for watching movies. Where should it be placed?
The optimal placement for a super tweeter speaker is on top of your loudspeaker, though positioning it immediately beside the speaker—as close as possible—is also acceptable. Select from 8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 kHz to adjust the Super Tweeter floor for optimal integration with your speaker system. When set to "OFF," the Super Tweeter will be inactive. The 8 kHz option offers the greatest overlap with your current tweeter, whereas the 16 kHz option provides minimal overlap, focusing on the higher end of the frequency spectrum. The crossover slope is set at 12 dB/octave.

Using the Klipsch Cornwall IV's as an example, and it's 102dB Sensitivity, to match this you simply take a look at the chart on the left, where you can see the Crossover and Treble Adjust is set to 8k Hz and -1dB, giving you 102dB output Sensitivity, your other options include 10 kHz and -1dB, 12kHz and -1dB, 14 kHz and -1dB, or 16 kHz and -1dB, though we highly recommend you to try all settings and see what works best for you and your ears.

After years of development, we are pleased to introduce the High Sensitivity Dual Air Motion Super Tweeter-HST. The AMT driver measures 5 x 1 inches (128mm x 25mm) in size. The Kapton has a thickness of 12.5 μm, while the Aluminum is 20 μm, resulting in a total thickness of 45 μm.
Sensitivity testing was conducted using 2.83v @ 1 meter. The crossover utilized is Butterworth. The components include FR4 pcb board and Aperion custom capacitors. High purity copper internal cables are used to minimize resistance. The transducer features a single ribbon design with dual firing open baffle, ensuring even distribution of the driving force across the vibrating element.

Can only dogs and cats hear it?
It is well known that the human hearing range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz; in reality, many older adults cannot even hear frequencies above 15 kHz. Since the human ear cannot perceive frequencies exceeding 20 kHz, why is there a need for "super-tweeters" that reach 30 kHz? Consequently, many people online claim that such sounds are audible only to cats and dogs.
This is a common misconception. When we design super-tweeters capable of reaching 30 kHz, the goal is not to enable you to hear 30 kHz itself, but rather to enhance the quality of the sound within the audible range (up to 20 kHz).
To take a simple example, suppose there are two tweeters:
A: Frequency response limit of 20 kHz
B: Frequency response limit of 30 kHz
If both are made to reproduce a 15 kHz sound:
A is already approaching its frequency response limit:
- The diaphragm begins to exhibit breakup (modal vibration)
- Phase distortion increases
- Distortion levels rise
B is operating at only half its capacity, so:
- Its sound is more linear
- Distortion is lower
- Transient response is better
It is akin to comparing two cars: one with an engine capable of 200 km/h and another of 400 km/h. When both are driven at 100 km/h, the latter operates with noticeably greater ease and composure.
