Introducing our entry-level Ribbon Super Tweeter! This is the first speaker model we created for music lovers, and it’s designed to enhance your listening experience. It’s easy to use and helps make the sounds you love even better. This super tweeter can bring out the high notes in your music, making everything sound clearer and more vibrant. It also helps expand the sound field, giving you a fuller listening experience, and can even improve the lower sounds, too. What is a Super Tweeter speaker you say? Put simply, it’s an additional tweeter unit which covers a wide and extended high-frequency response, most likely beyond that of your existing loudspeaker’s integrated tweeters.
Many loud speaker systems have poor high frequency performance. A Super Tweeter specializes in ultra-high frequencies and is used in conjunction with a bookshelf or tower speaker. Its purpose is to create a more realistic sound field, often characterized as "airiness," which enhances the listening experience. Super Tweeters are used to supplement the sound of tweeters by reproducing frequencies which the existing tweeter may produce only with a narrow polar output, or perhaps with distortion, or simply a low output. Our Super Tweeter speakers provides auxiliary high frequency effect, detail, density and texture that can enhance your existing system’s sound field with width, depth and enhanced timbre.
The PST Super Tweeter is a planar-magnetic, flat-ribbon tweeter consisting of a Kapton film with a pattern of aluminum conductors. The crossover network used non-inductive resistors, and use thin-film semiconductor capacitors. A linear phase response provides time coherent sound reproduction, allowing for an accurate sound stage.
Aperion Audio Super Tweeters are intended to respond well into ultra-high frequencies over 20 kHz, the commonly accepted upper frequency limit of human hearing. Super Tweeters are ideal for taking advantage of extended-range audio formats such as vinyl, SACD, FLAC, UHD Blu-ray and other high-fidelity formats.
1. Super tweeters are designed to work alongside your existing speakers; do not connect them directly to your audio source or amplifier.
2. Keep in mind that a super tweeter's output volume is usually low. If a super tweeter sounds excessively loud, it's typically a sign of poor quality.
3. Adding a super tweeter doesn't replace your current tweeter; please do not have that expectation.
4. While a super tweeter can enhance the overall sound experience, it does not guarantee "perfect" high-frequency sound. Instead, it enhances the sense of spaciousness and compensates for the high-frequency limitations of your original speakers, resulting in a better listening experience.
5. Make sure the sensitivity of the super tweeter is higher than that of your existing speakers. For example, if your horn-tweeter speakers have a sensitivity exceeding 100dB, adding a super tweeter with a sensitivity of 90dB or less wouldn't be effective.
6. The key to using super tweeters lies in experimentation and enjoyment. If you're not a serious audiophile or don't have the time to fine-tune settings, please think carefully about your purchase; achieving the best sound for your particular setup requires time and adjustments. And we recommend a minimum of 20~ hours of listening to allow your ears to adjust to the added high frequencies as well as fine tuning the adjustments.
7. Listening experiences are highly personal; it's completely normal for some individuals to notice a massive difference while others may only notice a small or no difference at all.

Super tweeters can be paired with full-range bookshelf speakers, two-way bookshelf speakers, tower speakers, and home theater front or surround speakers; they are not limited to use with Hi-Fi music systems. You can also add super tweeters to a home theater system used for watching movies. Since many modern DVD and Blu-ray recordings capture frequencies well into the tens of thousands of Hertz, adding a super tweeter allows you to fully reproduce the audio effects and achieve the best possible listening experience.
Where should it be placed?
The optimal placement for a super tweeter speaker is on top of your loudspeaker, though positioning it immediately beside your speaker's tweeter is also an option. The primary goal is to achieve a "point source" effect, where the sound originates from a single, unified location. Additionally, because super tweeters have a faster response time, you may want to position the unit slightly farther back—while still keeping it vertically aligned with the high-frequency drivers—to ensure that the mid-range, bass, and high-frequency signals reach your ears simultaneously.

This is not your normal tweeter. While most tweeters max out at around 20kHz, the APERION® Planar Ribbon Super Tweeter extends another 20,000+ Hertz above that.
The finishing touch for every Super Tweeter Speaker is a matte black/white or piano-black lacquer that’s so right for every decor, your coffee table will be jealous.
Choose between 8, 10, 12, 14 or 16 kHz to set the Super Tweeter floor for the perfect blend with your speaker. The "OFF" position renders the Super Tweeter inert. Using the Verus V6T's as an example, and it's 89dB Sensitivity, to match this take a look at the chart on the left, where you can see the Crossover and Treble Adjust is set to 8k Hz and -5dB, giving you 89dB output Sensitivity, your other options include 10 kHz and -4dB, 12kHz and -3dB, 14 kHz and -2dB, or 16 kHz and -1dB, though we highly recommend you to try each setting and see what works best for you.
Aperion Audio Super Tweeters are external devices that connect in parallel to the binding posts of your passive speakers—just ensure that you connect positive to positive and negative to negative. The key is to experiment; avoid listening too closely. Instead, assess the sound quality from your usual listening spot to find which setting delivers the most natural, balanced, and seamless integration. A Super Tweeter is an additional high-frequency speaker designed to complement your main speakers by reproducing ultra-high frequencies that standard tweeters may miss. The Aperion PST Planar-Magnetic Ribbon Super Tweeter Speaker Pair enhances clarity, detail, and airiness in your music, resulting in a wider and more vibrant soundstage for a truly immersive listening experience.
It is well known that the human hearing range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz; in reality, many older adults cannot even hear frequencies above 15 kHz. Since the human ear cannot perceive frequencies exceeding 20 kHz, why is there a need for "super-tweeters" that reach 40 kHz? Consequently, many people online claim that such sounds are audible only to cats and dogs.
This is a common misconception. When we design super-tweeters capable of reaching 40 kHz, the goal is not to enable you to hear 40 kHz itself, but rather to enhance the quality of the sound within the audible range (up to 20 kHz).
To take a simple example, suppose there are two tweeters:
A: Frequency response limit of 20 kHz
B: Frequency response limit of 40 kHz
If both are made to reproduce a 15 kHz sound:
A is already approaching its frequency response limit:
- The diaphragm begins to exhibit breakup (modal vibration)
- Phase distortion increases
- Distortion levels rise
B is operating at only half its capacity, so:
- Its sound is more linear
- Distortion is lower
- Transient response is better
It is akin to comparing two cars: one with an engine capable of 200 km/h and another of 400 km/h. When both are driven at 100 km/h, the latter operates with noticeably greater ease and composure.
Thus, the true value of the Aperion Audio super tweeter lies in:

The pursuit of a 40 kHz range in Aperion super tweeters is not about extending the upper limit of human hearing; rather, it is about ensuring that music reproduction within the 20 kHz range sounds more authentic, natural, and effortless.
The Aperion PST Super Tweeter is compatible with most passive bookshelf or tower speakers. It can also work with center channel and surround speakers. However, it is not suitable for powered/active or Bluetooth speakers. For best results, ensure your main speaker's sensitivity does not go above 94 dB Sensitivity, to ensure the Super Tweeter's are equal or louder than the speakers you are pairing them with.
The Super Tweeter is connected directly to the binding posts of your main speakers, not to the amplifier. Simply use speaker wire to connect the Super Tweeter in parallel with your main speaker cables. The 5-way binding posts accept bare wire, banana plugs, or spade/ring connectors for easy installation. We found our Premium 4N OCC Silver Audio Cable works best.

Put the supertweeters on top of my Large Advents. I had bought the New Large Advents new in 1980 and restored them myself in 2019 installing new components in the crossover. I then added a subwoofer. Still the system needed something and so I bought the supertweeters. Really improved the sound!!

I bought these to help the high end of a pair of tower speakers that I have. They now sound great with the PSTs, it really brought them to another level. I was also impressed with their finish quality, I highly recommend this product.

I have a pair of Mcintosh ml-1c 4 way speakers from the 70's. The knock on them was lacking high frequency but plenty of bass and midrange. They sound amazing now with the addition of the super tweeters from Aperion.
My original Aperion Home Theater Speakers are from 2008. It never was as transparent as I hoped for but the large room was not ideal acoustics. The highs were missing. The room has lots of glass. The Super Tweeters adds transparency on the highs. They are for those who wants to hear just a little more. I have the two controls dialed up fully.
Love my Klipsch speakers but I'm a classical music fan and the highs just weren't cutting it. The Aperions added a smooth, clear high range that was missing and were everything i had hoped for to complete my system. Seamless integration and easy setup. Definitely a bargain in terms of value added, especially considering their very reasonable cost.

Speaking of, it has just 83 dB sensitivity, which is just a bit too little output to match the Aperions. I have set the crossover to the highest frequency and output to the lowest level. Still, the tweeters are producing about 4 dB more sound than the Spendor satellites. if there were an easy way to attenuate the Aperions, that would be ideal. As it is, I am looking in my stuff to find some black, dense, thin foam from one of my headphones' packaging to cut down and attach so as to block (reduce) some of the driver output. Do you have a more elegant solution? So far, I have angled the Aperions 90 degrees outward, which seems better but not optimal. The impulse response of my speaker system has improved UPDATE... it seems that after some time, they seem to have mellowed out. Still, an attenuation solution might be a good item to offer or include. Also, i am responsible for the sale of another pair of these tweeters to a friend... J.C. Moore in Santa Barbara CA. He is also pleased with the sound and increased transient response of his Fritz Carbon 7s.

Absolutely awesome addition to my system. They honestly make listening to music way more fun. Everything just kind of sparkles more and my stereo imaging is so much more defined. Playing with placement can result in really interesting variations in sound. Absolutely would recommend folks trying them out.

These super tweeters definitely brought out more of the music on the high end with noticeable increased detail. I also enjoy the opening up of the soundstage. As I experience going with a pair of subwoofers for music listening, the super tweeters gave the same improvements to the high end. Knobs on the back don't line up with the marking for dB or cross over adjustment. Not a show stopper. Part of the switching things as one tries to find the best improvement that can be made.

Reviews were all positive, so I thought why not. This is likely one of the best decisions as it relates to upping my speaker game. They are very well built. Sonically, I was not expecting to be wowed, but the way to the extent that they delivered increased air and shimmer (without being harsh or etched) and a wider and taller soundstage was an unexpected yet pleasant surprise. The added sense of airiness and decay for cymbals had me knowing these were not going back in pretty short order. At first I was concerned with high frequency beaming and/or comb filtering and it not playing nice with the tweeter in my speakers. This was not the case at all and proved to be unfounded audio nervosa -- at least in my case and the 30-day trial certainly allayed any fears about them just not working out for me These, like a good subwoofer, do not draw attention to themselves; they just add to the music such that one notices something is missing when they are not there. While I do love my Tekton Lore Reference speakers, these little guys have quelled my burning desire to buy new speakers. Truly a notable upgrade for speakers at a very fair price.

Super Tweeter Audition Aperion and other speaker manufacturers should make a wonderful home for the super tweeters. Room acoustics, 2-way, 3-way and 4 -way configurations may have different results. The connection in all of this is your ears and appreciation of a recorded performance. The Piano Gloss Finish looks great on any tower or bookshelf speaker. The Price Point is hard to believe for a super tweeter. I would also like to mention Aperion has.... Excellent Customer Support.... impressive packaging and a Test drive 30 day return policy.... Before evaluating I went to an Audiologist for an overdue hearing test. They used the latest technology. Ear wax was removed by a Renowned ear specialist before the test. He really knows how to clean ears. Everything is crisp and bright. Just a slight loss in the 6k range, otherwise all good. DIY Towers used for demo. A friend built these using cabinet design software. Spectrum analysis was used for testing. Several revisions were made on crossover points. Passive can be a bit time consuming. Active can really dial it in. 3 -ways Drivers in each tower use two Dayton 7" Woofers, JBL mid-range and Dayton soft dome tweeter. The Super Tweeters added something airy in the higher frequency range on jazz and classical material. Other music at times sounded like wax paper vibrating on a comb. Remember it's my ears. L-Pad and frequency adjustments changed this issue after more listening sessions. Hard dome tweeters and horns is most of my listening experience over the last 4 decades starting with a pair of Klipsch Cornwalls and GAS components. The DIY speakers may end up in someone's shop. They look great and would be an excellent theater speaker. At movie levels they come alive. Best suited for rock and roll...of course that's my opinion. 5 stars for the Super Tweeters. The DIY's are not a good match. Tested with Emotiva Differential Preamp, XSP-1, XPR-3, Vintage B &O 2400 Turntable with MMC20CL cartridge. Theater test using older XMC-1 processor. Other speakers I still own are DCM TF-700 towers for music. Crossover components refreshed along with Vifa Tweeter and Audux mid range, imaging is excellent.
I bought the Super Tweeters on an open box offer. These are just what I was needing for my JBL L100 Century speakers.
Love it! Enjoying my focal chorus 726 towers. Felt I was missing a little on the high end, so added these aperion super tweeters. Did the trick for a lot less than trying to find new speakers!
The only reason that it wasn't 5 stars was because one of my speakers had a random issue out of the box. But to their credit, a part was shipped ( out of country ) immediately and problem was solved.
It makes the sound of music complete, amazing product, I also bought the E2 amplifier and holy….::: amazing, this company is awesome
