Verus V8B 8" Bookshelf Speakers (Pair)

The Verus V8B bookshelf speakers was designed to easily compete with the best speakers available, providing excellent sound quality that audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts will appreciate.

Introducing the big brother of the APERION Verus V5B bookshelf speaker, and perfect counterpart to the bigger V8T Concert tower, we bring you the Verus III V8B Bookshelf Speakers!

For years we’ve been asked to create a bigger bookshelf speaker, and the time has finally arrived! As with all of our Verus family of speakers, the 8-inch midwoofer uses a classic Kevlar cone, which was designed and produced in-house

Top that off with the Aperion Patented 1.1" APERION "Axially Stabilized Radiator" V2 silk dome tweeter for the top end, and bada bing, we created the Verus III V8B Bookshelf Speakers.

Aperion V8B 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Gloss Black

Amazing Sound and Elegance

With its refined elegance and stately design aesthetic, the Verus V8B has garnered widespread acclaim. Inheriting the essence of the Verus III speaker driver array, the V8B delivers extraordinary audio performance — a standard of excellence that rivals competing models priced at twice its cost.

2-Way Bookshelf Design

Two Way Bookshelf Design

The Verus III Concert V8B features an exceptional two-way stand-mount design that offers distinct advantages in audio reproduction. It is meticulously equipped with Aperion’s patented 1.1” ASR tweeter, capable of precisely reproducing high-frequency details; and one 8” long-throw Kevlar woofer, providing a powerful and impactful low-frequency presence.

V8B Robust Construction

Robust Construction

The V8B features a cabinet constructed from robust, high-density fiberboard (HDF). Its interior is meticulously engineered with multiple structural braces to ensure rock-solid stability, effectively eliminating cabinet resonance at its source and enabling a pure, interference-free audio output. In terms of aesthetics, the front baffle is prepped with a Sandblasting technique followed up with being finished with a matte spray-painting process that exudes a premium tactile quality; the remainder of the cabinet is finished in either an elegant black piano lacquer or a warm cherry-wood veneer.

Verus III Advanced Crossover

Advanced Crossover

Time-intensive iterative designing and fine-tuning of the crossover networks has resulted in a smoother, neutral, and better balanced frequency response across the whole range. Enhanced phase integration between the tweeter and midrange drivers have also resulted in a cleaner, more open sound in the transition regions. The Verus III employs superior customized components, which include high quality thin film capacitors to provide minimum dielectric loss, customized Aperion internal wiring, and we even went as far as customizing the PCB board with an Aperion red color to represent our love of great sounding audio!

V8B&V5B Treble Mod Adjustments

Treble Mod Adjustments

The Verus V8B Bookshelf Speaker is designed with a frequency adjustment that attenuates the high frequency output by -3dB, allowing you to tone down the high frequency output for "live" rooms. This simple treble jumper modification significantly increases the versatility of the Verus V8B for various room styles. This subtle yet impactful adjustment allows the V8B to perform at its highest potential in different configurations.

Aperion V8B Bookshelf Speaker Gloss Cherry Pair

Audiophile-Grade Sound

The Verus III V8B Bookshelf Speakers are designed for those seeking a full bodied sound stage as a 2-channel system, or driving your front stage or surround channels in a powerful home theater.

Particularly those looking to bring recordings to life, with excitement and presence that immerses you in a concert-like experience leaving you with the intangible feeling when music hits you.

Aperion V8B Bookshelf Speaker Gloss Cherry Tweeter

Aperion Patented 1.1" ASR Tweeter

Our design objectives required a tweeter that permits a lower crossover frequency in order to unburden the mid-bass woofer above 2.6 kHz, where they tend to beam. To address this conundrum, we went to the drawing board with the goal of developing a tweeter with a diaphragm that resists “rocking” near its resonant frequency. By pinning the diaphragm’s center in a plane above the voice coil, it became “axially stabilized,” which minimizes unwanted distortion. The silk dome is coated in a specially developed damping compound to ensure a smooth and accurate response with controlled resonance. The refined "wishbone" waveguide has resulted in better output, with more uniform frequency response and wider dispersion across its operating range. The ferrofluid cooled voice-coil is driven by a high-energy ferrite magnet motor.

Aperion V8B Bookshelf Speaker Gloss Cherry Woofer

8" Kevlar Long-Throw Woofer

Using a 8“ woofer increases the Verus line’s power handling and dynamic range, filling the middle of the sonic spectrum. By recreating the full harmonics of a singer’s voice, the Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers produce vocals richer than the Rockefellers.

Aperion V8B Seamless Integration

Rear Port Tube

A tuned rear reflex port on the V8B bookshelf speakers reduces air-leak noise all the while increasing the bass performance.

V8B Robust Construction

Furniture-Grade Finish

The slim curves of the Verus line’s first-rate cabinetry make us think "supermodel"—but the primo acoustic qualities means she'd have to sound as good as she looks. The finishing touch for every Verus speaker is a high-gloss cherry-wood veneer or piano-black lacquer that’s so right for every décor, your coffee table will be jealous.

Aperion V8B Bookshelf Speaker Gloss Cherry Back Side

Premium Cabinetry With Custom Components

The Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers employs superior customized components, which include high quality thin film capacitors to provide minimum dielectric loss. Customized Aperion internal wiring with spade connectors to make upgrading a breeze, and we even went as far as customizing the PCB board with our signature Aperion red color! Being rated at 6 Ohms and an efficiency of 88 dB, the V8B Bookshelf Speakers are easy to drive with most AVR's, and their full potential can be seen with a high quality integrated amp.

The V8B Bookshelf Speakers uses an HDF cabinet and HDF front baffle, available in either a gloss cherry veneer, or piano gloss black finish. The HDF cabinet offers a consistent acoustic response, and the curvilinear aspect of the cabinet helps eliminate standing waves inside the chamber.

The cabinet for the Verus line naturally poses a challenge in terms of the woodwork. The curvilinear cabinets are hard to produce, and there are many steps to make the cabinets according to Aperion's QC standard. The painting process can be time consuming as well. While the curved cabinets are difficult to produce, the results yield a unique look.

The gloss finishes bring a furniture-grade aspect to the speaker for your living room and home theater. Regarding the gloss cherry wood veneer cabinets - the towers and bookshelf speaker wood veneer strips are cut from the same tree, to ensure the wood grain is matched as identically as possible between each cabinet. Before the high gloss lacquer is applied, the cabinets are stained in pairs for cherry shade consistency.

Using a 8“ woofer increases the Verus line’s power handling and dynamic range, filling the middle of the sonic spectrum. By recreating the full harmonics of a singer’s voice, the Verus Grand speakers produce vocals as rich as the Rockefellers.

The slim curves of the Verus line’s first-rate cabinetry make us think "supermodel"—but the primo acoustic qualities means she'd have to sound as good as she looks. Treble Mod

The Treble Mod feature allows users to reduce the treble response by 3 dB. This serves as a room correction feature for people with “live” rooms that have a large amount of reflective surfaces.

Rear Port Tube

A rear reflex port on the V8B bookshelf speakers reduces air-leak noise with increased bass performance.

5-way gold-plated binding posts

Bi-ampable is the techie way of saying you can connect one amplifier to the woofer and the other to the tweeter. Separating the low- and high-frequency wiring helps eliminate interaction, isolate power and reduce distortion.

Custom Lightweight Magnetic Grilles

To protect the speaker's drivers from accidents, pets or curious fingers, the entire Verus line sports a lightweight magnetic grille which can easily be removed when you want to show off your beautiful speakers to friends and family.

Note: To remove the grille, gently pinch the grille cloth at the top with your fingers and pull it outward to take it off easily.

Warranty and Downloads

Five (5) year warranty on cabinets, crossovers, and drivers, with lifetime customer support.

What type of amplifier or wattage is recommended for the Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers?

The Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers are rated at 6 Ohms with a sensitivity of 88 dB, and we recommend an amplifier or receiver that provides 20-150 watts per channel for optimal performance. For the best sound quality, pair them with a high-quality power amplifier or AV receiver with a peak power of 300 Watts per channel.

Where is the ideal placement for the Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers, and can they be wall-mounted?

The Verus V8B speakers are designed as front left/right speakers and are ideal for bookshelves, stands, or mounting at ear level in your listening area. They feature dual 1/4''–20 threaded inserts on the back, making them compatible with wall and ceiling mounts for flexible placement in any room. Exercise caution if wall mounting as each Verus V8B weighs 28 Lbs.

What cabinet finishes and materials are available for the Verus V8B Speakers?

The Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers are crafted with ultra-thick HDF cabinets and come in furniture-grade gloss cherry wood veneer or piano gloss black finish. The cabinets are curved for reduced resonance and enhanced acoustics, offering both exceptional sound and a stylish appearance.

Does the Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers produce strong bass, and is a subwoofer necessary?

With an 8'' woven Kevlar long-throw woofer and a rear ported design, the Verus V8B delivers impressive bass for a bookshelf speaker, with a frequency response down to 30 Hz. Many users find the bass powerful enough for music and movies, but adding a subwoofer can offer a deeper and richer low-end extension for home theater setups.

What unique features do the Verus V8B Bookshelf Speakers have, and how do I use the Treble Mod?

The Verus V8B includes a patented 1.1'' Axially Stabilized Radiator (ASR) silk dome tweeter, bi-ampable gold-plated 5-way binding posts, and a Treble Mod feature that allows you to reduce treble output by 3 dB for rooms with reflective surfaces. To use the Treble Mod, simply set the jumper to the minus 3 dB setting on the back of the speaker according to your room's needs.

How do I clean and care for my Verus speakers?

The gloss cherry veneer can be polished to perfection with Pledge, and the included Microfibre cleaning cloth. You can also use 'Old English' polish for a deep clean, and it works great on the front-textured baffle!
